Changing weather

4.02.2012

This Friday was quite a special day ...besides the extreme and crazy weather out there as you'll be able to see from these photos, it was a special day as I got to see some old friends again , who landed straight from the Netherlands. So right after school I got picked up by a colleague of mine from my volunteering club, Rotaract,  and we went directly to the airport in Bucharest ( after a quick stop at IKEA)  I was aware that I should expect a  rainy weather that day, so I made sure I was wearing my favourite rubber boots of course, but nothing had prevented the almost apocalyptic scenario we experienced after we took our guests on a small tour around the capital city..the sky turned black in a second and ice began falling down from the sky. In less than two minutes the streets were left  deserted, people running to the closest shelters..and as we were stuck in traffic you can  imagine my terror ( I have to confess the boys were having quite some fun) but soon it would be all over. A memorable first day in Romania for the foreigners I have to say.

O prima zi in Romania memorabila pentru oaspetii nostrii!

P.S. You might have noticed I had my hair cut, which was only to let it grow up in a more healthy way. I know most of you don't like it like this but it will be back to its old shape in a short time. Promise :)

P.S. Promit!

Marten, Jaap (my host father from an amazing camp I was a part of in Holland in summer 2011), Daan (Jaap's son) and Bert (Marten's friend) . A short yet great weekend for them too I hope, which made me realize how amazing it is to meet such wonderful people only by travelling :)

love,
