This isn't the first time I express my fascination with this Australian designer but for those of you who missed it, here is the beautiful shooting for the Autumn/Winter 2012 collection by Magdalena Velevska whose lookbook you can see in this current post.

What I love most about these pictures is how the quirky cuts of the clothing and strong hues are perfectly complemented by the  bleached look & crimson lips of the model which gives the collection a mysterious aura.

Are you  as charmed as I am by this collection?

Nu e prima data cand imi exprim fascinatia pentru acest designer Australian, insa pentru aceia dintre voi care nu ati vazut primul post dedicat acestei creatoare, il puteti vedea accesand acest link, iar in postul curent puteti admira noul lookbook al colectiei toamna/iarna 2012 Magdalena Velevska.

Ce imi place cel mai mult la aceste fotografii este cum croielile ciudate ale hainelor si nuantele puternice sunt completate perfect de look-ul pal si buzele visinii ale modelului, ceea ce confera intregii colectii o aura misterioasa.

Sunteti si voi la fel de fermecati de aceasta colectie?

It took me a while to get out from the "dark zone" in terms of colour choice for my outfits, but I'm sure it won't be long before I go back to the same dark palette I am so comfortable with. 

I guess one of the factors that inspired my decision is the slight improvement of weather that recharged my batteries with positiveness thinking that spring is on its way. 

I know some of you might say I exaggerated a bit with the colours, but I really felt like having fun and playing with strong hues, that you wouldn't put together normally. 

And I also felt I had to make the gorgeous neon pink shade of my sweater  pop even more. I think wearing such bright, happy colours is a sign of confidence and optimism. In a dull, grey city, watching people dress vividly always puts a smile on my face :)

Mi-a luat ceva timp sa ies din zona intunecata in care ma aflam, in materie de alegeri cromatice pentru outfiturile mele, insa  sunt sigura ca nu va dura mult pana ma voi intoarce la aceeasi paleta inchisa de culori ce ma face sa ma simt atat de confortabil .

Cred ca unul din factorii care m-au inspirat sa iau aceasta decizie a fost usoara imbunatatire a vremii, ce mi-a reincarcat bateriile cu pozitivitate, la gandul ca primavara e pe cale sa soseasca.

Stiu ca unii dintre voi ar putea spune ca am exagerat cu alegerea culorilor,  insa chiar am simtit nevoia sa ma joc putin cu nuantele puternice, pe care in mod normal nimeni nu ar indrazni sa le combine.

In plus, am mai vrut sa scot in evidenta  si culoarea minunata-roz neon-a puloverului meu. Consider ca a purta culori deschise si vesele este un semn de incredere in sine si optimism. Intr-un oras gri si plat, oamenii care aleg sa poarte culori vii intotdeauna imi aduc un zambet pe buze. :)

London Fashion Week F/W 2012

London Fashion Week has just come to an end, letting the one in Milan to take over the runways. I was super excited about the collections this year, and I could hardly make a selection of my favourite ones, so this will be a pretty long post.

But nothing is too much when it comes to fashion, so I hope you'll enjoy this little photo retrospective.

Saptamana modei de la Londra tocmai s-a incheiat dandu-i voie celei din Milano sa cucereasca podiumurile. Am fost extrem de incantata de colectiile de anul acesta si mi-a fost destul de greu sa fac o selectie a favoritelor mele, asa ca asteptati-va la o postare destul de lunga.

Nimic nu e "prea mult" insa, cand vine vorba de moda, asa ca sper sa va bucurati de aceasta mica retrospectiva foto.

 I have finally received this amazing vintage bag which I recently purchased from a vintage website and I loved it even more when I first saw it! It is super thin and elegant, its texture is simply amazing and it has two ways in which it can be carried. Another item I truly adore from this outfit is this (also) vintage skirt, which I found in my grandma's closet and I immediately "borrowed" ,  with no intention on ever returning it, of course..

I think I am slowly becoming a vintage junky.

Am primit in sfarsit aceasta geanta minunata pe care am achizitionat-o de pe un site vintage si de care m-am indragostit si mai mult cand am vazut-o pentru prima oara! Este extrem de subtire si eleganta, cu o textura incredibila si poate fi purtata in doua moduri, datorita celor doua manere. 

Un alt item pe care il ador din acest outfit este fusta, vintage si ea, pe care am descoperit-o in dulapul bunicii si pe care am "imprumutat-o" imediat, fara vreo intentie de a o returna bineinteles..

Cred ca ma transform incet incet intr-o dependenta de vintage.

Ar trebui sa ma ingrijoreze acest lucru?

Rag & Bone inspired outfit

J Mendel Fall 2012

This collection really caught me off guard, as I was completely absorbed by the power that lies in each and every single look that walked down the runway. I think the best way to describe it is by using these two words: Simple & Fierce!

Need I say more about THE BEAUTY ? The effortless chicness of the  natural looking hair and makeup complemented perfectly the sleek and glamorous silhouettes.

For those of you who have followed my blog, it's no surprise I fancy this collection, as I am a forever devoted fan of reptile skin, leather and faw fur! 

Clean cuts, amazing armory like coats, sexy minis , lady-like lengths , modern fabrics, old Hollywood glamour all put together into such a wearable and exciting collection, almost reaching perfection (I would have loved to see more sparkly gowns)

New York fashion week definitely has the potion of high-class fashion entertainment, and it keeps getting better and better!

Sunny wishes

All this depressing coldness outside has really made me crave about  lovely summer evenings playing in the sand, dancing on the beach, touching the sea with my feet or laying in the sun on the hot rocks by the beach side...Of course this is just an utopia given the cruel freezing reality, but I couldn't help not to share with you my recent editorial crushes which are absolutely dreamy.

The first one unveils a retro, ethereal atmosphere which screams freedom and natural beauty, with fluid shapes and messy hair, while the second one portrays a  glamorous beach goddess in some amazing glittery pieces  from labels such as Givenchy, Herve Leger and Salvatore Ferragamo.
Of course this is not how we would normally dress on a hot summer day but I could use a tiny escape into a "too-hot" scenario for a while, until I open the door and step outside in the frosty reality..

I hope you enjoy this as much as I do. Have a lovely, warm day!

Chic in the heat

No, it's not me who's feeling too warm, but Lindsey Wixson in this playful new editorial from the March edition of US' s Harper's Bazaar, shot by the super himself, Terry Richardson. I don't seem to be able to find anything not lovable in this shooting, besides maybe the seal...but she (Lindsey) pulls it off quite well.

So the girl works some of my favourite pieces, like that Valentino lace gown, the Prada and Moschino bodysuits and of course the kings of the runway- the  Prada hot rod heels! 

Terry snaps some amazing images, in splashes of colour and energy, on a retro background and spellbinding scenery  than can only make me wanna lay in the sun, with a glass of any non-alcoholic drink, cheered up with a pink cocktail umbrella and an an addictive tune playing the stereo.

The styling is on the spot, with a 50's and 60's twist, lots of prints and of course the mandatory cat-eye glasses. 

And so, as I write this post I catch a glimpse from my bed to the frosty window, and I almost cry watching the horrible snow falling down from the sky. It's just another depressing winter day..

Frozen blue

Never before have I experienced such a cold, white winter, or maybe the piercing coldness has erased fragments of  memory from my brain. It might look so fairy-tale like and beautiful in pictures, but during a live encounter, this dreamy landscape is no blessing to any peer mortal. Nevertheless, I had to face the ice-age  and show you my latest vintage finds which are a white maxi dress and this neon baby blue knitted cardigan which I absolutely adore and I knew the only way to make it pop and look even more gorgeous would be to take it out on a snowy, white background.

I must apologize for the messy hair-style and frozen body posture, but as you can probably tell from this pictures, I was almost blown away (literally) by the wind.
